Questions about minutes templates
Can we use these templates for free?
Yes. Download them, adapt them and use them for your board. No sign-up is required.
Do the templates meet our state’s legal requirements?
They are structured around the elements open-meetings laws commonly require, and the township and borough templates follow Pennsylvania’s Sunshine Act. Requirements vary by state and local ordinance, so check our state guides and confirm with your solicitor.
Should minutes be verbatim?
Usually not. Most boards keep action minutes, a concise record of what was decided and how members voted. A verbatim record, where required, is kept separately (for example, a stenographic record of a zoning hearing).
